Whether mid-air on a long-haul flight, at the beach or at home in the garden I hope you’ll enjoy the Recommended Reading Summer 2017 – Fiction and Non Fiction I’ve selected to appeal to 12-18 year olds.  It comprising a wide variety of genre – contemporary fiction, horror, love stories, mystery and detective stories and my favourite – historical fiction.  All are available in the St. Andrew’s College Library.

YALSA’s Teens’ Top Ten is a “teen choice” list, where teens like you nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year.  Nominators are members of teen book groups in US schools and public libraries.

The second 2nd Year Book of the Year is Harper Lee’s classic ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’.  Congratulations to Olivia (2K) who was one of the many students who voted for the book.

Having one Book of the Year wasn’t enough for our 2nd year students – they had to have two!!  And quite right too!!  The winners of the Inaugural 2nd Year Book of the Year Award are Veronica Roth’s ‘Divergent’ and James Dashner’s ‘The Maze Runner’.
