You are currently browsing the tag archive for the ‘Smithsonian Institution’ tag.

We are all aware of the History Channel, but you should check out the History and Classical Studies page of this blog for details of some great history sites available on YouTube.  American Studies students should have a look at Smithsonian Videos which includes ‘Civil War 150’.  Have a look too at ‘Adventures in American History’ and the ‘US National Archives’ where you will find primary sources.  Yad Vashem is Israel’s memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. ‘ World History and Other Stuff’ and ‘HipHughes History’ cover a wide range of historical topics.

I absolutely adore the Smithsonian’s History Explorer site.  I strongly advise you to check it out, particularly their Civil War resources.
